Combining microscopic observations with DNA analysis, the researchers confirmed the presence of Agrocybe broadwayi and Xuaniella urbica in warm-temperate grasslands. Both discoveries extend the species' known distributions eastward and show that familiar parks and recreational spaces still hold surprises for biodiversity research. The findings provide reference material for identifying lawn mushrooms and establish a foundation for investigating how fungi inhabit, and potentially move between, landscapes maintained by people.

Sustained low-level inflammation is a hallmark of the aging process. The accumulating damage persistently activates the innate immune system--the body's first line of defense--leading to what is known as inflammaging, functional decline and chronic diseases of old age.

A new study demonstrates that embedding short, asynchronous mindfulness practices into Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) curricula effectively reduces stress, combats burnout, and builds essential leadership skills. Published in Nurse Educator, the project evaluated student responses to brief, 1-to-5-minute mindfulness modules delivered through course learning management systems.
