O Lord, our God, you are our help and our deliverer. In these days of decision, grant us your discernment, that we may hear beyond the words of divisiveness and derision, that we may see past the contest and the discontent, and that we would bear witness to the peace that is ours when we rest in you.
Do not delay. Do not hold back your guidance. We are weak in body, mind, and spirit. But you are mightier than anything that stands before us. Hold us with your powerful hand and lead us on this journey.
Open to us the fountain of faith, the healing waters of hope which flow from your grace. Reveal the pillar of cloud and fire, reassuring us of your abiding presence, and shepherd us in these days of unrest and uncertainty.
Ever our strength and shield, to you, O God, we lift up our prayers in the power of your name. Amen.
Exodus 13:21–22, Psalm 40:17
Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase.
