Armenian Oblast
Armenian oblast (1828–1840 AD) was an oblast (province) around eastern Armenia. It was created by the Russians when they took over Eastern Armenia, a large number of Armenians moved back from Persia to Armenia and about 35,000 Muslims (Azeris, Kurds and Lezgins) and various nomadic tribes left the area.
