தாமஸ் ரீட் (Thomas Reid) (7 மே 1710 – 7 அக்டோபர் 1796) மதரீதியான பயிற்சி பெற்ற ஒரு ஸ்காட்லாந்திய மெய்யியலாளர் ஆவார். இவர் தனது மெய்யியல் அணுகுமுறை, புலனுணர்வு குறித்த கோட்பாடு, மற்றும் அறிவுசார் கோட்பாட்டில் (epistemology) அது பரவலாக ஏற்படுத்திய தாக்கங்கள் ஆகியவற்றிற்காகவும், 'செயல்-காரணக் கோட்பாடு' (agent-causal theory) எனும் தன்னிச்சை (free will) சார்ந்த கோட்பாட்டை உருவாக்கியவராகவும், அதன் பாதுகாவலராகவும் இன்றைக்குப் பெரிதும் அறியப்படுகிறார். மேலும், அறவியல், செயற் கோட்பாடு, மொழி மற்றும் மனதின் மெய்யியல் ஆகியவற்றிலும் இவர் தடம் பதித்துள்ளார்.
'ஸ்காட்லாந்திய பொதுபுத்திப் பள்ளியின்' (Scottish School of Common Sense) நிறுவனரான இவர், கூடுதலாக 'ஸ்காட்லாந்திய அறிவொளி இயக்கத்தில்' (Scottish Enlightenment) முக்கிய பங்காற்றினார். 1783-இல் 'ராயல் சொசைட்டி ஆஃப் எடின்பர்க்' (Royal Society of Edinburgh) அமைப்பை நிறுவியவர்களில் இவரும் ஒருவர். டேவிட் ஹியூமின் சமகாலத்தவரான ரீட், "ஹியூமின் ஆரம்பகால மற்றும் மிகக் கடுமையான விமர்சகராகவும்" திகழ்ந்தார்.
ரீட் தனது 'Essays on the Active Powers of the Human Mind' (1788) என்ற நூலுக்காகப் பெரிதும் அறியப்படுகிறார். இந்நூலில், தன்னிச்சை, செயல், மற்றும் அறநெறிக் கோட்பாடுகள் உள்ளிட்ட மனித மனதின் செயல்சார் நடத்தை இயல்புகள் குறித்து ரீட் விவாதித்துள்ளார்.
