Been clear since ~2017 that CH would break neoliberalism; that US officials and ideologists would flip on a dime; and that they’d suffer no bad conscience over the ease with which they shed an ideology they formerly wielded to such destructive ends across the world. 1/3

but while we may have forgotten about structural adjustment or the Iraq War, or never cared much to begin with, the rest of the world has not. And that’s not even considering the Cold War. A strong dose of humility and reflexivity are in order. 3/3
