The Bulletin

Every month, in The Bulletin, the Brussels monthly for expats, we talk to someone from somewhere (anywhere, really...) who washed ashore in Brussels. The series is called "From there to here". We talked to a Greek gardener who took to Brussels because of "its jazz and its filth." We talked to a Congolese woman entirely dedicated to vanquishing racism through her steadfast dedication to the small niceties of life. We talked to an upcoming avant-garde architect hell-bent to break through Brussels' architectural "crust of mediocricity" with some daring works. We talked to a Dutchman of Turkish descent who wants to bestow the spirit of Barack Obama on the city. And we talked to an Italian woman whose introduction to Brussels was tumbling down the rolling staircase of Brussels' Central Station, with her suitcases landing on her, as she lay on the ground. It's all there. Slapstick, fighting injustice, great ambitions, small ambitions. It's the city experience.
