Der. Kolektif emperyalist dizaynın şu an için ucu açıktır”.>>

Call for Conference Papers, Speakers and Participants
The Green Economics Institute
Celebration Invitation
10th Anniversary,
10th Annual Green Economics Institute, Green Economics 3 Day Conference to be held at Christchurch College, Trinity College, and Earth Sciences and the Economics Departments at Oxford University
March 21st - 25th 2015
Rebalancing and Reforming Finance, Banking, Economics and the Economy
To halt the rolling Tide of Climate Change, Halt the Mass Extinction of Species, Prevent Poverty and create an inclusive future looking economy for the benefit of all the worlds people, nature, other species and the planet.
To challenge the narrow scope, core and assumptions of mainstream economics and use holistic, inclusive and interdisciplinary explanations, instruments, and tools.
To reform mainstream and neo classical economics to provide equal access for all, whilst providing academic rigour of the highest standards in terms of new thinking in philosophy, methodology and ontology for economics. (Tony Lawson Cambridge University Economics tutor and writer believes we are leading change by example in this respect.)
To found an inclusive, and progressive economics discipline based equally on environmental and social justice and on diversity which comfortably includes data and learning from other disciplines. We have managed to do this in the first 10 years of the Institute.
We return to the fundamentals, basing economics on oikia, which means household or estate management. Indeed, the Earth is the household on which we all depend.
The four pillars of Green Economics, in a framework of social and moral underpinning: Policymaking, Campaigning, Business, Academic
Challenges we face ahead: The world is undergoing social and environmental change and a global shift in power. Wealth is accumulating in fewer hands. Democracy is under threat. Globalisation has led to production being mainly in sweatshops in the East. The European Economy has been hollowed out.
The Green Economics Institute is an independent, international, networking body, working on the core philosophies of economics & ecological reality.
We are calling for papers, speakers, workshops and participants and please feel free to recommend other ideas. We are particularly keen to encourage new and non standard speakers as well as more experienced participants. Everyone is very welcome.

This paper will consider the political nature of the discourses of responsibility for tax avoidance and benefit-claiming. Section 1 will begin by establishing a theoretical framework for understanding the social-democratic capitalist state, building on Bonefeld’s (2012) analysis of ordoliberalism. This framework will posit that the social-democratic state requires the economy to function optimally in order to best fulfil its telos, or raison d’être. Following this, it will show that benefits recipients and tax avoiders are both groups that undermine the optimal coordination of the state economy (according to the framework constructed). Section 2 will then consider the discourses regarding both of these sub-sections of society, concluding that the issues of tax avoidance and unemployment are both depoliticised, but in different ways. This section will suggest that these depoliticisations unjustly put more responsibility on benefits recipients. Finally, Section 3 will consider why the state chooses to do this.

Foreign aid in this era has become central on the agenda of policy makers. During the UN 2010 Millennium Goals Summit for instance, evaluation and accountability of aid was accentuated to extend assistance for developing countries to help tone down entrenched poverty. The transfer of funds from one country to another as a form of assistance, however is brimming with disagreements as different groups have diverse views on foreign aid issues. Protagonists of foreign aid maintain that, aid stimulates and precipitates growth and institutional reforms in various developing countries. Antagonist analysts, on the other hand, assert that, aid debilitates institutions of most developing countries, exacerbates corruption, escalates bureaucracy and widens the gap between the haves and the have-nots among other inimical quandary. In this paper, foreign aid has been defined as the transfer of money, goods and services from one country to another. It further expands that, foreign aid gained prominence during and following World War II when aid was primarily used to help rebuild the economies of Western Europe. Subsequently, Sub-Saharan Africa has absorbed almost one trillion in nominal aid dollars over the last fifty years but the growth record is not admirable (Mayo, 2009 and Easterly, 2006). According to the UN Policy Brief No.1 in October 2010, “Africa received a greater share at 36% of total global aid than any part of the world. Over the past four decades, aid to Africa has quadrupled from around US$11 billion to US$ 44 billion with net increase of almost US $10 billion during the period 2005 -2008 alone” (UN, 2010).
Another corollary is that, the record of aid to Africa from 1960 and 1997 has been a horrendous failure as more than $500 billion in foreign aid which is equivalent to four Mashall Plans pumped to Africa has created dependence instead of development. Some countries like Malaysia, Taiwan, Israel and Egypt also relied heavily on foreign aid for development. One may then ask: is foreign aid still relevant today? This paper, through underscoring aid’s contributions

In the otherwise rich debate on the eastward expansion of the Eurozone, fragmented approaches prevail, leaving several conceptual avenues of this process underexplored. The case of Poland – initially a fervent enthusiast of the euro adoption and a somewhat assertive endorser today – offers in this context an opportunity to add to the debate and deepen our understanding of the logic behind eastward expansion of the Eurozone. In what follows, Poland’s prospective Eurozone entry is examined from the broader angle of the historically determined conceptual and policy-making context of systemic transition. To this end, a conceptual nexus between Eurozone expansion and transition is established and examined through the historical institutionalist perspective. It is argued that rather
than being solely a function of Poland’s EU membership, both the decision to adopt the euro and the attainment of real and nominal convergence are predominantly a function of the, as yet unfinished, transition process. Interestingly, as this paper suggests, the inconsistency inherent in the execution of the Maastricht convergence criteria not only creates disincentives that effectively delay Poland’s Eurozone entry but also triggers reform-drift and backsliding, thus casting a shadow on the prospect of the completion of the Polish transition and its sustainability.

Government is a basic institution of organized socio-political economic society and as such has a moral impact on all members of the society irrespective of their social standing or ethnic origin. As government is perhaps the ultimate result of group compromise and negotiation it is the one social institution growing out of the social interaction that must be amenable to changes in the social body composition; failure to do so equitably will lead inevitably to social dissolution. It is the express intentionality of this paper to delineate the ancient idea that under an oppressive, arbitrary government the citizens of the nation who are so bedeviled have the moral obligation to replace that government with a more egalitarian system of socially based rule.

The 2012 election campaign popularized the notion that
people who benefit from federal spending vote for Democrats, while people who pay the preponderance of taxes vote Republican. A survey conducted during the election included questions to test this hypothesis and to assess the accuracy of voters’ perceptions of federal spending. Voters’ perceptions of their benefit from federal spending are determined by family income, age, employment status, and number of children, as well as by party identification and race. Voters aged 65 and older who believe they are net beneficiaries of federal spending are more likely to be Democrats and vote for Barack Obama than seniors
who believe they are net contributors to the federal government.
However, the 77.5 percent of voters under age 65 who believe they are net beneficiaries of federal spending are as likely to vote for Romney as for Obama and as likely to be Republicans as Democrats. Voters who live in states that receive more in federal funds than they pay in federal taxes are less likely to vote for Obama or to be Democrats. For most of the electorate, dependence on federal spending is unrelated to vote choice.
