IHS CERAWeek is the premier annual international gathering of energy industry leaders, experts, government officials and policymakers, leaders from the technology, financial, and industrial communities – and energy technology innovators. This year marks the 35th anniversary of this influential event, ranked among the top five “corporate leader” conferences in the world. Midst the turbulence and uncertainty in energy markets this year, CERAWeek 2016 will provide new insights and critically-important dialogue — and a very cost efficient way to engage on the most urgent questions with decision-makers from around the world.

Unparalleled Content

CERAWeek is distinctive in the extraordinary depth and breadth of its content, and the quality of the dialogue among participants. This year, the conference will deliver perspectives and analysis on the impact of low and volatile oil prices for strategies, risks and opportunities, and costs and supply chains. The program offers comprehensive insight into the global and regional energy future – spanning all regions and segments. It addresses key issues shaping the energy agenda – from markets and geopolitics to technology, project costs, energy and the environment, finance, operational excellence, cyber risks – and the implications for investment, industry structure and strategy.

The program contains over 120 sessions including Keynotes, Plenaries and Ministerial Dialogues; Strategic Dialogues and Insight Breakfasts/Dinners and IHS Expert Briefings; and Leadership Circle Communities. It also provides a host of opportunities for informal exchange, informed discussion and networking.

The CERAWeek Community

The CERAWeek community includes more than 2,800 decision-makers from over 50 countries. The conference is designed to foster engagement across traditional boundaries of regions, professions, and industries. The result is a wellspring of ideas, and insights, and an integrated and holistic perspective to enhance understanding and decision-making. This alchemy also leads to new relationships that last far beyond CERAWeek.

Speakers

Speakers include over 300 industry executives, government officials and thought leaders as well as 100+ IHS experts on energy, economics, geopolitics and strategy. The conference is chaired by Daniel Yergin, Pulitzer-Prize winning author of the best-selling books The Prize, The Quest, Commanding Heights, and more. Dr. Yergin has been cited by Fortune Magazine as “one of the planet’s foremost thinkers about energy and its implications,” and described by Time Magazine as “the man whose opinion matters more than any other on global energy markets.” In 2014, he was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by India’s Prime Minister and the James Schlesinger Medal for Energy Security by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Energy Innovation Pioneers Program

Now in its 11th year, the Energy Innovation Pioneers program features CEOs of dynamic early stage companies whose technologies offer great promise. IHS screens and selects candidates based on their invention and creativity, feasibility and timeliness, scalability and quality of management team. Each CEO presents on their company’s technology during daily Strategic Dialogue Breakfasts. The Innovation Pioneer Showcase, held concurrently with the main conference program, enables conference attendees to meet CEOs from current and previous Innovation Pioneers. Past Pioneers have achieved remarkable successes, including several who have completed successful IPOs. CERAWeek 2016 will include 20 pioneers from oil, gas, power, renewables, environmental and energy efficiency technologies.
