Noxiustoxin, a 39-amino acid residue peptide isolated from the venom of the Mexican scorpion Centruroides noxius, has previously been shown to affect voltage-dependent K+ channels. Here we describe the isolation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against this toxin and their use in structure-function relationship studies. Six hybridoma clones (BNTX4, -12, -14, -16, -18, and -21) producing MAbs against noxiustoxin were isolated. The epitopes defined by the MAbs are overlapping or in close proximity because no MAb pair could bind simultaneously to the toxin. All the MAbs inhibited to various degrees the binding of the toxin to its receptor sites on rat brain synaptosomal membranes. The venom from other Centruroides species was shown to contain components cross-reacting with the MAbs, suggesting the existence of other NTX-like toxins.

The sunflower is the most important raw material of the oil sector among oilseeds produced in Turkey. Although adaptation areas of the sunflower that can be cultivated in dry or irrigated conditions almost in every region of Turkey are very large, cultivation areas have remained at the level of 500 000-600 000 hectars for many years. For this reason, it is necessary that support and incentives carried out should be increased in order to spread production in the potential areas after these areas are determined, yield should be increased, new species whose oil content is high should be developed, produced and spread. As a result, in order to enlarge cultivation areas of the sunflower, more areas, both dry and irrigated, should be opened to the sunflower agriculture through especially technical support and incentive of the government or the private sector.

ABSTRACT The amount of data currently being produced, stored and used in hospital settings is stressing information technology infrastructure, making clinical reports to be stored in secondary memory devices. The aim of this work was to develop a model that predicts the probability of visualization, within a certain period after production, of each clinical report. We collected log data, from January 2013 till May 2011, from an existing virtual patient record, in a tertiary university hospital in Porto, Portugal, with information on report creation and report first-time visualization dates, along with contextual information. The main factors associated with visualization were defined using logistic regression. These factors were then used as explanatory variables for predicting the probability of a piece of information being accessed after production, using Kaplan-Meier analysis and the Weibull probability distribution. Clinical department, type of encounter and report type were found significantly associated with time-to-visualization and probability of visualization.

The tools discussed include a Windows-based line definition program and static capacity evaluator with proposed links to a variety of simulation packages. ABSTRACT Co-digestion of food waste and daity manure in a mesophilic, completely mixed anaerobic digester was studied in the laboratory. Two mixtures of food waste and dairy manure were tested. The first mixture was composed of 32% food waste, based on volatile solids (VS) content, and 68% dairy manure; the second mixture was composed of 48% food waste and 52% dairy manure. For each mixture, the performance of the anaerobic digester was evaluated at two different organic loading rates (2 and 4 g VS L -1 d -1). The results showed that at 2 g VS L -1 d -1, the digesters were stable when fed with either mixture. The second, mixture yielded a higher biogas production yield and rate (504 mL g -1 VS and 1010 mL L -1 d -1, respectively) than the first mixture (398 mL g -1 VS and 780 mL L -1 d -1, respectively). At 4 g VS L -1 d -1, the digester fed with the first mixture had stable performance, but the digester fed with the second mixture had large fluctuation in daily biogas production. The average biogas yields were 476 and 504 mL g -1 VS, respectively, and biogas production rates were 1910 and 2020 mL L -1 d -1, respectively, for the first and second mixture. No significant differences were found for VS removal between different conditions tested. Based on the measurement data, the energy generation potential of a farm digester was calculated for co-digestion of different amounts of manure and food waste. © 2007 American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.

Perusahaan ini bergerak dalam bidang industri komponen press kendaraan bermotor roda dua dan roda empat. Pada awal 2015 permintaan barang dari customer mengalami peningkatan sehingga perusahaan berusaha meningkatkan kapasitas produksi tanpa ada penambahan mesin dan Man Power. Departemen Engineering ditugaskan untuk melakukan perbaikan untuk menurunkan Cycle Time untuk memenuhi kenaikan kapasitas tersebut. Sebagai langkah awal perbaikan dilakukan di Line Plate Tail Comp. yang memiliki permintaan barang tertinggi dari part yang lain. Line Plate Tail Comp. yang merupakan line produksi yang berfungsi untuk proses stamping. Pada line ini menggunakan system Flow Process dimana terdapat 5 (lima) proses produksi, dimana setiap proses mendukung proses yang lainya, tahapan perbaikan dimulai dari analisa lapangan, identifikasi improvement, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi secara berkala, sampai diperoleh hasil yang maksimal dari proses perbaikan. Landasan teori yang digunakan adalah time study dan coating proses karena sangat erat dengan elemen kerja operator. Pengambilan sample waktu kerja dilakukan langsung menggunakan metode stopwatch selama 10 hari kerja. Dari observasi awal dapat ditentukan perbaikan yang dapat dilakukan adalah menghilangkan elemen kerja transportasi digantikan oleh shutter sebagai transportasi material. Hasil penelitian adalah cycle time turun 26.47% dari standard awal yang artinya dapat menambah kapasitas produksi per hari 288 Pcs/hari.
