Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie

I am a huge Yu-Gi-Oh! fan. I have the movie, collect the dvds, play the game, and have some accessories. Adding this cd to my collection makes it all the better. Also, if you were looking to here the songs on the movie but didn't, if you let the end credits run all the way through until it returns to the menu, they do play snips of all the songs except track 2. on to my review:

track 1: You're Not Me- The perfect song to represent Kaiba and a great opener both for the soundtrack and film.

track 2: For The People- This track is nothing to get excited about. It has nothing to do with the game nor does it have anything to do with the shows. Frankly, its one long sell out that has a good beat.

track 3: One Card Short- I find that this song is a great analogy for the game and series in a whole and has a great rythym.

track 4: Step Up- Again, this song doesn't really have any reference to the game or series, but has more to do with it than "For The People". When I hear it, I think of all the duels that Yugi and the gang have faced that tried to cause huge trouble.

track 5: Shadow Games- Amazing song. lyrics make total sense and beat is awesome. Every time I hear it, I think of every shadow duel Yugi has been from against Pegasus at the end of Duelist Kingdom to Anubis in the movie and onwards.

track 6: It's Over- Once more, not much to do with Yu-Gi-Oh!, except maybe Kaiba and his eternal losing streak to Yugi.

track 7: Blind Ambition- Awesome song. Starts strong and keeps the pace. It makes me think of the 3 duelists from the series that have a lot of energy and a huge love of the game- Joey from the original, Jaden from GX, and Leo from 5Ds.

track 8: The Great Pretender- Kinda slow to be honest. And I don't see much of a connection to the series unless you think about foes that had some false gimmick that fell through against the gang (i.e.: May Valentine v. Joey Wheeler at Duelist Kingdom).

track 9: How Much Longer- Most say that they think of Mokuba when they hear this song. Not me. I think of how much I enjoy the game. Also, this song could work for fans of any game, be it Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic the Gathering, football, baseball, etc.

track 10: U Better Fear Me- The song's beat sounds kind of manic depressive in my opinion. It constantly switches from being low in sound and slow on tempo between chorus parts to loud and fast during the chorus. Also, the lyrics are a little difficult to understand.

track 11: Power Within- A little difficult to explain. Best way to describe it is it talks about self-confidence on the part of the player and is best suited towards the movie than the rest of the series.

track 12: Believe In- Most say that this is the extended cut of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX theme song. I don't quite hear it. It may be sung by the same group, but this song is most certainly not the GX theme song.

track 13 (bonus): Yu-Gi-Oh! theme (extended)- What more do I have to say?

1. You're Not Me- A song for Seto Kaiba. Tells a great story, the chorus is awesome, and its just a great song.

  2. For The People- I always skip this song. It's annoying to me.

3. One Card Short- This song really pumps me up and just puts me in the mood to duel. Fantastic song.

  4. Step Up- I used to not care for this song, but now I like it a lot. It reminds me of HSM honestly, and I mean that as a compliment. Reminds me of Yugi's duel with Dartz.

  5. Shadow Games- This song reminds me of Tea. It's a much better song than "We'll Be There", and the ways some parts are sung is cool too.

  6. It's Over- The hip hop parts are good, but the chorus is kind of annoying.

  7. Blind Ambition- I love the ska elements in this song. It reminds me of Tristan, although its a lot cooler than him.

  8. Great Pretender- It's ok. Reminds me of a song Vic Mignogna sings.

  9. Now Much Longer- I feel like this is my personal theme song. The singer has a beautiful voice.

  10. U Better Fear Me- Another great song.

  11. Power Within- Lion King esque. Not much to talk about.

  12. Believe In- Good song.

13. Yu-Gi-Oh Theme- Great tunet fills any duelist with nostalgia!

I absolutely love the songs on the CD. I've been listening to them a lot on my way to work and on my way home from work.

the cd was good the song where great and when with the movie if you like the show you will like this cd

Great.

a good seller and a good veiwer

My kids watched this movie over and over soon after purchase. Great for the child or person who likes Yu-Gi-Oh!

I loved Yu-Gi-Oh! since they came out with the TV series and game. AWESOME!!! I recommend this album to everyone alike.

（you're not meは特におススメ！）

Seller was awesome, love this soundtrack. Hits me right in the nostalgic feels. Glad i found it after losing my first copy many years ago

Only bought it because I couldn't find it on itunes and I wanted "You're Not Me" and "Blind Ambition". Played it and found that most of the songs don't appear in the movie itself or even at the end.

It's a good CD with good songs but most, I feel, are not relevant to Yu-Gi-Oh the series or the movie.

Overall, the best songs on here are "You're Not Me" and "One Card Short", the rest I ended up tuning out. Yu-Gi-Oh Music To Duel By was way better in my opinion.
