Can healthcare identify risks before illness takes hold? Abu Dhabi-based M42 is working to bring artificial intelligence, genomics and clinical care together to help doctors spot health risks earlier.

Formed in 2023 through the combination of G42 Healthcare and Mubadala Health, M42 operates more than 480 healthcare facilities across 27 countries. Its Global Patient Care platform serves around 15 million patients each year. Its portfolio includes Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and international renal care provider Diaverum.

The company's ambitions include a shift towards identifying health risks before symptoms develop. M42 operates the Emirati Genome Programme, which uses genetic data to advance personalised medicine and preventive healthcare in the UAE. It is also developing AI tools and digital health solutions to support clinical decisions and patient care.

M42 Group CEO Dimitris Moulavasilis joins Dan Murphy to discuss how the company plans to combine its global healthcare operations with new technologies, the opportunities and challenges of using patient data, and what it will take to make predictive healthcare part of everyday medical practice.
