Recent JPMorganChase Institute research finds households are tapping investment accounts for everyday spending more than ever. Since 2019, transfers from investments to checking have doubled and now fund about 7% of total spending. The biggest increases are among older and higher-income households, underscoring a deeper link between investing and spending across the lifecycle.

Meet Fernando, a markets operations director in the Commercial & Investment Bank. His work helps keep equity cash processes running smoothly, with a focus on service for clients and internal partners. 💼 Fernando joined JPMorganChase through the graduate program in 2004. After a stint in reference data, he transitioned to equities where he’s built a well-rounded career across client services, project management, control and oversight, and leadership. He’s energized by the pace of the work, but says what stands out most about his 22 years at the firm is the people and culture. 🌍 Outside of his day job, Fernando is the co-chair of the EMEA chapter of Adelante, our Hispanic and Latino business resource group. He’s inspired by how the leadership team comes together with shared purpose and appreciates the group’s positivity and commitment. ⛳ When he’s not working, Fernando is all about family time. He enjoys golfing with his sons and staying active through running, swimming, and rowing.

It’s Employee Appreciation Week at JPMorganChase, and we’re featuring employees nominated by their peers for making our company a great place to work. 👋 Meet Kelly, a lead software engineer in Public Cloud Engineering. Her team builds tools that help teams across the firm set up secure cloud services, so they can move quickly and efficiently. 💼 Kelly joined the firm seven years ago through the Software Engineering Program straight from university. After starting out in the Commercial & Investment Bank, she moved into Public Cloud Engineering and has since stepped into a lead software engineer role. 🥾 Outside of work, Kelly is usually out walking with her husband and their dog, Ruby. She also loves to travel, and she’s a big American football fan with an Arizona trip planned to see her team play. 🎉 Kelly is recognized by her peers for bringing great energy to the Glasgow office, from organizing potlucks and bake-offs to creating fun, welcoming moments like Twin Day that got everyone involved and talking long after. 🙌 Kelly, you make Glasgow brighter. Thanks for bringing the energy and the community spirit every day.

It’s Employee Appreciation Week at JPMorganChase, and we’re featuring employees nominated by their peers for making our company a great place to work. 👋 Meet Alexander, a payment lifecycle specialist who helps keep the firm’s client activity and transactions on the right side of regulatory requirements and internal controls. 💼 Three years into his JPMorganChase journey, Alexander has deepened his expertise in sanctions screening and compliance, while also contributing to initiatives that strengthen controls and help protect the firm and its clients. 🧠 What he enjoys most is untangling complex problems, spotting smarter ways to work, and collaborating with talented colleagues across the organization in a culture that values continuous learning and growth. ⚙️ When he’s off the clock, Alexander explores new technologies, learns about automation, and looks for creative ways to improve processes. He also loves traveling, experiencing new cultures, and seeking out local coffee shops to try coffee from different countries. 🙌 We’re grateful to have you, Alexander!
