Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of the book design process? 📚✨ For Edwin Vazquez, Senior Designer at Random House Publishing Group, his work is shaped by finding creative inspiration in his surroundings, experimenting with textures and techniques, and immersing himself in the world of each book. “If you take the time to really represent the voice that the book is trying to evoke, you can create books that draw people in.” 🔗 Check out our Q&A to learn more about Edwin's thoughtful approach to projects including Devon Rodriguez’s WORK IN PROGRESS, Han Kang’s WE DO NOT PART, DC Comics, Marvel novels, and more: https://lnkd.in/erfd7bvC

Patrick Radden Keefe wrote the book of the summer. For the New Yorker staff writer, it's a familiar kind of success and the latest in a long run of stories that turn into cultural moments. "London Falling" grew out of his reporting on the mysterious death of a 19-year-old in the River Thames. Had a great chat with PRK about the reporting of the book, his ambivalence to texting and the fallout from his story going global.

"Our goal is simple: to ensure all students have access to the books they need to learn, grow, and understand the world around them." —Dan Novack, VP and Associate General Counsel, Penguin Random House On July 27, Penguin Random House joined Hachette, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, Sourcebooks, and the Authors Guild in filing an amended complaint in Penguin Random House v. Robbins, seeking to protect nine books that the coalition argues should never have been removed from Iowa school libraries. The complaint challenges the overbroad enforcement of Iowa's SF 496, which has led to the removal of works with significant literary, historical, and educational value. 🔗 Read more about our amended complaint and the books at the center of the case: https://lnkd.in/e563nvc2

We're thrilled to celebrate the start of this new publishing venture with Texas Monthly! 🎉
Today marks an exciting new chapter for Texas Monthly. We’re proud to announce the relaunch of Texas Monthly Press, a new publishing venture created in collaboration with Penguin Random House. For more than 53 years, Texas Monthly has told the stories that define Texas—stories of politics, business, culture, sports, food, history, and the remarkable people who shape our state. Now, we’re bringing that storytelling tradition to the books of Texas Monthly Press—publishing fiction and nonfiction that capture the people, culture, history, and ideas that make Texas unlike anywhere else. Combining Texas Monthly’s deep knowledge of the state with Penguin Random House’s publishing expertise, this new imprint will publish works that are rooted in Texas and resonate far beyond its borders. Texas Monthly Press’s projects will be guided by an experienced editorial team, including Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and former longtime Esquire and Random House editor Mark Warren, a native Texan, who will serve as editorial director of Texas Monthly Press. This is more than a new imprint—it’s an investment in great storytelling and a commitment to bringing important Texas voices to readers across the country. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4ehHTAP.
