About the Texts
The Department of Rare Books, Special Collections, and Preservation (RBSCP) in Rush Rhees Library houses the collection of record for the papers of Henry Augustus Ward personal letters, as well as the correspondence, records, and catalogs associated with the Ward's Natural Science Establishment business.
Statement on Offensive Materials
These collections contain materials, items, images, or language which researchers may find offensive and objectionable. Researchers with questions or concerns should contact the project.
Represented currently on this website are:
- an index to a portion of Henry A. Ward's correspondence
- the early issues (1881-1886) of Ward's Natural Science Bulletin
- an index of all articles which appeared in the Bulletins, tagged for searching and sorting
- a complete listing of the issues of Ward's catalogs held in the library's collections; some available as full issues online.
- a representative sampling of non-correspondence materials, including inventories, contracts, handbills, and posters
Currently available on the website is the majority of correspondence and journals in the Henry Augustus Ward Papers as well as a selection of journals from the Edwin Eugene Howell Papers and the Charles H. Ward Papers
