SINATORO: UltraGenius Grant Morrison and I plot to destroy your mind

Award winning comic book writer and psychedelic baddass Grant Morrison is giving me a script for what might be one of the most insane American movies in a decade.  SINATORO is a psychedelic science fiction revenge thriller set in a landscape made of American pop culture nightmares.  Grant and I have been looking for years to do a project together. My video for the No-Neck Blues Band is being screened as part of the art show FULL OF LIGHT which is billed as a “gentle nod to Bruce Connor / Enfolding Angel”. I’m psyched to be a part of it. For the past several weeks I have been collaborating with Donovan Leitch, Ken Roht, and Lanny Cordola on a “GYPSY-GLAM” rock musical called DARK ROOT OF THE DREAM. Donovan and Lanny wrote it, Donovan stars, Ken directed and co-stars, and I have created Video design to be projected throughout the performance. This included shooting/directing several small shoots with the actors, as well as experimenting with all sorts of visual alchemy combining motion graphics and effects. The surrealist musical is about MR. E, “superstar-provocateur of rock and other media, who happens to be the guilt-ridden fictional son of the novelist Virginia Woolf.” As described in flavorwire “The oddity of Mr. E’s lineage sets up for an absurd case of identity crisis. His mother’s troubling suicide unwittingly forces Mr. E to delve into deep, dark literary caverns. The FULL LENGTH film I have made with + about the No-Neck Blues band, “AT 6AM WE BECOME THE POLICE,” will have it’s premiere screening at the BOZAR CINEMA, a part of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Belgium, on May 5th 2009. I will be attending the screening, along with the entire band who will also perform a set. I am so excited to be showing the film at such a beautiful place.
