Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S) executives today joined federal and state officials to mark the delivery of the company’s first Tamir missiles produced at its new manufacturing facility in Camden, Arkansas.
“Arkansans aren’t shy about being a key part of the arsenal of freedom; in fact, we are proud of it,” said Governor Sanders. “I was grateful for the opportunity to break ground on this facility in 2024, to cut the ribbon last November, and, today, to celebrate the completion of the first Tamir missiles produced here in the Natural State. The ongoing partnership between the state of Arkansas, the community of Camden, and R2S is special, and I look forward to more announcements like this in the future.”

Big River Steel is a very big deal!
The 2026 Arkansas Manufacturing Showcase is proud to feature Big River Steel as a Gold Sponsor alongside more than 130 exhibitors representing the strength of manufacturing across Arkansas.
The Showcase is breaking attendance records this year, and Big River Steel knows a thing or two about breaking records. BRS is located in Mississippi County, which now holds the distinction of being the largest steel-producing county in the nation.
Thank you to Big River Steel and to all of the manufacturers, exhibitors and partners who are making this year’s Showcase one for the record books!
Manufacturing is about what we make, but it’s also about the hands we shake.
Last night, Arkansas Manufacturing Showcase sponsors and exhibitors had the opportunity to do plenty of both at our VIP Reception at the Museum of Discovery!
A special thank you to Virco, our VIP Reception Sponsor, for making a great evening of networking and connection possible.
Virco knows a thing or two about bringing people together. As a manufacturer of furniture for classrooms and learning environments, they create the tables, chairs and spaces where people gather, learn and collaborate every day.
Last night, they helped us create a space for Arkansas manufacturers and industry partners to do the same.
Thank you, Virco, for supporting the 2026 Arkansas Manufacturing Showcase and Arkansas manufacturing!

Taber Extrusions recently celebrated the grand opening of its new $85 million expansion at its facility in Russellville, Arkansas. This grand opening highlighted Taber Extrusions' new extrusion press, which is the largest new direct press in North America. The expansion will create 70 new jobs.
Taber Extrusions first announced this expansion at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2024 alongside Governor Sanders and state economic development officials. A groundbreaking was held for the facility in April 2025.
“With this grand opening, Taber Extrusions is taking the next step in growing its capabilities and business in Russellville, Arkansas,” said Clint O'Neal, CEcD, executive director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. “Taber Extrusions has been a valuable part of the local business community for years, and this expansion shows that they are thriving in Russellville’s and Pope County’s welcoming business environment. Congratulations to the Taber team, the City of Russellville, and Pope County on this major milestone.”
“Taber’s investment in Russellville means more good-paying jobs and greater opportunity for Arkansans in aerospace and defense, advanced manufacturing, and heavy industry,” said Dr. Megan Selman, CEO of the Russellville Chamber and the Russellville Regional Alliance for Economic Development. “These are industries the River Valley was built on, and this expansion proves they’re not just part of our past — they’re a big part of our future. We’re proud to see Taber continue to invest, grow, and create opportunity right here in Russellville.”
