In our recent LinkedIn poll, we asked people to predict what respondents in our 2026 Global Workforce Hopes & Fears Survey would identify as the biggest risk to job security. 53% of poll voters predicted AI taking on more tasks. But in the survey, economic volatility was more commonly cited as a risk to job security: 57% of workers cited it, compared with 44% who cited AI. The contrast highlights a difference between what poll voters expected workers to identify and what workers more commonly cited in the survey. It’s a reminder that leaders need to understand workers’ concerns—not just the risks that dominate the conversation—as they navigate workforce change.
